AZITHROMYCIN 500MG TABLETS - PATIENT INFORMATION

USES

Azithromycin 500mg Tablets are a broad-spectrum antibiotic used to treat specific bacterial infections. They work by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping the growth of bacteria.

CRITICAL NOTE: This antibiotic is INEFFECTIVE against viral infections such as the common cold, flu, or most sore throats. Misuse contributes to antibiotic resistance.

DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION

·        PRESCRIPTION ONLY: Take exactly as directed by your physician. The dosage and duration are specific to your infection.

·        FREQUENCY: Usually ONCE DAILY.

·        WITH FOOD: Can be taken with or without food. Taking with food is recommended to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.

·        COMPLETE THE COURSE: You MUST finish the entire prescribed course, even if symptoms improve, to ensure the infection is fully eradicated and to prevent recurrence.

·        MISSED DOSE: If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. DO NOT DOUBLE DOSE.
